Scholars at TMSA Charlotte Elementary School are encouraged to put their minds to the test. We strive to provide a rigorous education for all scholars in K-5th.
Our scholars in grades Kindergarten through 3rd grade are immersed in an advanced curriculum with the integration of STEAM-based learning. They stay with one teacher and have the opportunity to participate in Computer Lab, Physical Education, Science Lab, Music, and the Arts. They are engrossed in an enriched educational atmosphere with innovative teaching methods. TMSA Charlotte Elementary School aims to provide each scholar with all their educational needs while also providing a safe and inclusive learning environment for all.
At TMSA Charlotte Elementary School, we use inquiry based learning with a Science, Technology, Engineering, the Arts, and Math (STEAM) focus for all of our scholars in Kindergarten through 5th grade. Scholars in grades Kindergarten through 3rd grade dedicate a portion of their academics to hands-on learning practices where they are broken up into various student-led centers. Scholars in grades 4th through 5th are getting ready to experience middle school at a younger age. Our scholars’ in 4th and 5th grades transition between English Language Arts (ELA) (Reading and Writing), Mathematics, Science, and Social Studies (History, Government, and social impacts on society, culture, and history) on a day-to-day basis. Our scholars also have the opportunity to participate in Computer Lab, Physical Education, Science Lab, Music, and the Arts.
Each month at TMSA Charlotte Elementary, our scholars are filled will the desire to learn how to be model citizens through our character education program. Within our character building program, each month is a focus of a different character trait. Traits that are explored include: Responsibility, Respect, Kindness, Compassion, Courage, Diversity, Honesty, Citizenship, and Perseverance.
We also focus on individualized learning experiences where scholars can interact with online programs either through SmartBoards, Apple iPads, or Google Chromebooks in the classrooms. Scholars even have the ability to continue their learning at home through fun and educational websites. Students will also have free tutoring time after school to work with teachers and improve on their core classroom subjects (ELA, Math, Science, and Social Studies).
